The Linksys RE6300 is a Wi-Fi range extender that can be set up easily using the following steps:

Plug in the Linksys RE6300 to a power outlet near your wireless router.

Wait for the light on the range extender to turn orange. This indicates that the range extender is ready to be configured.

Connect your computer or mobile device to the Linksys range extender's default wireless network. The default network name is Linksys Extender Setup - xxx, where xxx is a unique identifier.

Open a web browser and go to the default web address of the Linksys RE6300 range extender: extender.linksys.com. If the website doesn't load, try using the IP address 192.168.1.1 instead.

Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Linksys RE6300 range extender. You will be prompted to create a new administrator password and select your wireless network to extend.

Once the setup is complete, the Linksys RE6300 range extender will reboot and connect to your wireless network.

Move the range extender to a new location that is within range of your wireless router but far enough away to provide coverage where you need it.

Check your wireless devices to confirm that they are connected to your new extended wireless network.

Rachel Gomez
